USA NEW MEMBER!! Timing Belt ?'s 4 98 Camry owner!

Hey all,
Just picked up a mint 98 Camry i4 auto wit 116k miles and there is no indication the timing belt has been changed (no service records or stickers). Literal one old man owner well maintained factory belts look good. Should i invest the $400+ to replace timing belt and water pump?? What if the belt breaks? My old MR2's once broke and whole motor needed replacement! Times are tough and i really don't want to do it if i can wait, but don't want a blown motor either! My mechanic says he has seen some last 150k miles+. The car drives as if it were new- lovin' it
PLEASE ADVISE and are there any other concerns i should be aware of??

the i4 is a non-interference motor so if the timing belt does break, there wont be any permanent damage. you will just be dead in the water where you are. you probably can let it go for a little while, but it is overdue.

The belts can go longer then the recommended 90K.

To prevent strain on the belt don't gun the engine.

You can DIY for a belt cost of under $35.
