3rd Generation New exhaust (on the way)

ok so after much waited anticipation of my friend getting this same muffler and it sounding great i decided to buy one..

http://www.k2motor.com/mf-rs310.html

Yes i know its a can and its only $30 but lets put it this way. my friend spent $30 for this muffler and it sounds deeper and less raspy then my friends hks highflow on his 08 lancer. res's were removed from both cars.

On the question side. When i get installed im upgrading the piping. what do u guys think? 2.25 or 2.5?

I plan on running a full catback (2nd cat haha) and doing the muffler bent out pointing to the right side of the exhaust cutout on bumper. (JDM angle as some would say lol.)

$30? You should be ok with 2.25". I wouldn't angle the muffler though. Post videos/pics; I want to compare it with mine.

k the inlet for the exhaust is 2.5 and i know u can mate it but ya. I guess ur right i wont lose as much low end with 2.25 (I think) not that it really matters on a camry :P but yeah muffler will be here in a few days and ill take pics but wont b mounted until after xmas

Im deff telling the guy to mount it as flush as possible with the bumper lol. and since im gettin new piping im takin the res off for now. if its to loud for me i have the silencer (like u) lol and i can always buy a res

I don't have a silencer on mine, but I did add a resonator (some no name one) since I wanted the tone to sound smoother. Don't forget to ask for mandrel bent piping too.

Mandrel bent piping has smoother turns/bends in the piping whereas something like crushed bent piping is a little more restrictive since the pipe tends to fold and bunch up when it's bent. By the way, thanks for the compliment, you should hear it now, it sounds a lot better with the resonator. I'll try to get some videos of it.

The muffler is one of the first changes i made to my car. I was weary about hacking up my exhaust. So i went to the junk yard got and old muffler, cut off the coupler and the turn, then welded that to s short piece of 2.5 in pipe. then added some hangers to the muffler and done. Its a can but sounds deep and great and i can still put my old muffler on. I recomend this way, all you need is the coupler off the old muffler.

I would leave the factory resonator in if I were you, the exhaust shop can cut it out if you want louder... No need to be picky about any of the piping or what not, it isn't going to make a bit of difference on a 4 cyl so you might as well save your money and go with crush bent (some shops can actually do a really good job with crush bent piping)

yeah i understand what ur saying. but if figured since im upgrading to 2.25 piping that imma go ahead and take off my stock res. but im gettin my res and old muffler (flowmaster 40 series) back so incase its to laud or i dont like it i can put it back on ya know? My exhaust shop does a great job, they have worked on my car in the past and have done many of my friends cars so i trust them in what ever they do. I just checked the tracking number and the muffler is scheduled to be here on the 24th.
