5sfe installation dramas

hi all, im new to the front wheel drive engine scene, and im no expert mechanic, but i started it off by ripping out my partners 2.2 litre 5sfe and i replaced it with an exchange engine that had been tested prior to me receiving it.
anyhow long story short i have the new engine in the engine bay, everything is done except for the torque converter to the flex plate, and when i went to bolt the flex plate up i tried to turn the engine by hand on the crank and it would not budge. i have tried turning it with the gearbox in neutral, taken the starter motor out, and still i get no movement at all. is there anything i have overlooked? need this car going pronto, please help. and thank you for your time

Is the trans installed and bolted up?

Is the torque converter installed correctly. The tang needs to engage the trans oil pump or it will extend out too much.

Anything handing up on the flywheel starter gear. Look under the were the trans rear end plate bolts up.

Are your the engine is OK?

no the torque converter isnt bolted to the flex plate yet, i thought it could be done similar to a clutch setup where you bolt the engine to the box and then bolt the plate up.
what i have bolted up is front and driver side mount and the main bolts that connect the transmission to the block, with the rear mount i cant get that bolted up yet, because i cant get the four bolts to line up to the block properly (but to do that ive been told i have to have the car on the ground so the suspension has weight on it and it should level out, is this correct? because if i do that i cant get under the car to bolt them up)

ok have decided that i have to pull it all out again and begin from scratch, and the manual says i have to undo the hubs to take the cv joints out, but there must be a better way of doing it, because i cant get the hubs off without a rattlegun which i do not have access to.
so is there anyway that i can take the driveshafts out from the transmission, without worrying about the hubs needing to come off aswell? i realy need this car finished asap
