It's been a long time since I reported back any changes to the car.
FYI the car was very dirty at time of pics. We just had epic amounts of rain and they're gonna be back shortly, and I had no reason to wash the car.
First off, new exhaust. It's a Magnaflow Model (I can't remember) but at 2.25 inlet and 4 inch outlet. Surprisingly enough, it sounds really smooth and deep, and there's nothing for me to complain about in the way it is. Here are some pictures to show how it looks installed on the car.
Mounting is done using the stock oem hangers and fit is perfect, so far no driveway has been a problem.
Next is something I have been working on for a while. Stereo.
This is a Scion cd/mp3 deck from a late model xA. Not pictured is a prototype thin wood bezel that was made. Once i'm back home next week, I will fab up a fiberglass bezel for it. Fit and finish is fairly pristine and the sound quality is a night and day difference from the old cassette deck I had, and fairly better than a stock gen4 cd stereo in there prior.
Next up is my review of the suspension I'm running in correlation with the wheels/tires.
Set-up is as follows:
Gen 4 v6 camry Vogtland Springs
Gen 3 v6 KYB GR-2 struts
18x8 +40 Voxx Ancona rims (fairly heavy)
225/40R18 Kuhmno tires all around (different types due to lack of availability at various times)
As pictured, the suspension drop is even all around, giving about an inch and a half of clearance between the top of the tire and the fender. Clearance in rear is compromised by the high offset, but there is about 3 mm of clearance to the strut. Springs are firm but fairly gentle. Comparable to most new cars with fresh springs. Compression is minimal, as it takes a LOT of effort to push down on the corner of the car to make is compress.
Cornering is sharp but could benefit from an RSB, but for casual driving, the hevicle exhibts practically no body roll. With the current tire set-up, poor roads are not the best ones to be driving on as most imperfections are amplified via stiff springs. No odd and unexpected squeaks anywhere.
I have been running this suspension set-up for 17k miles, and the only difference is that the front finally sagged down by about half an inch. The rear, is still a bit lower sitting but did not budge at all since install.
Lastly, here's a small thing, showing respect to the members of TN who have been here for a while... you guys know what this sticker is about =]
