Clear Corner Legal ?

HI FOLKS, I GOT PULLED OVER THIS MORNING AND THE COP GAVE ME A FIX IT TICKET FOR NOT HAVING ANY "AMBER" REFLECTOR IN MY FRONT END.

I HAVE A 92 CAMRY WITH THIS:

I DID ALOT OF SEARCHING AND ALMOST CERTAINLY SURE THAT THE FRONT CLEAR SIGNAL IS LEGAL. BUT I'M NOT SO SURE ABOUT THE CLEAR CORNER (BOTH ON THE HEADLIGHT AND BUMPER) WHICH THAT I'VE BEEN CITED FOR.

ANY FOLK WITH SIMILAR EXPERIENCE OR ESPECIALLY OFFICER ONBOARD ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO SPEAK UP.

Only in California will this happen.......

Technically speaking, it;s NOT legal. You are supposed to have some type of orange/amber reflector on the front. But for the most part, only Cali will ticket you for that crap. Get a pair of 95/96 Camry corner lights (They have an orande reflector), or put the OEM orange outter bumper lights back on. Either of which should make it so you don;t have anu more issues.

Umm....there's actually a loophole in the California vehicle law for reflectors. You can have clear corners as long you have amber turning signals in front, at least that's what my cop friend told me. Several actually.

It's illegal to have other color bulbs in front except for orange.

The rear, it's limited to either white, orange, yellow, or red. Any other colors are illegal.

The turn signal and corner light can be amber or white. The reflector must be orange according to FMVSS 108.
