99 camry smoking flex pipe

Hi there, looking for help with a 1999 2.2 camry whcih has just recently started to smoke from the flex pipe and lets of a burning smell. I have checked under the car and there are no visible signs of leaks.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm....no leaks? Are you sure? Is this from inspection or have you felt it? My guess would be that oil is getting onto it on the top(where you can't see) and that's burning off. But if you've felt it all the way aroud and it seems dry then your on your own.

Does the smoke smell like exhaust and burning oil?

The paper came back completely clean. So I'm assuming it's something coming from the engine?
Any ideas would be great.

Are you sure it was originally coming from somewhere along the exhaust pipe? Or was it a guess? If it was the exhaust, check along it, there might be oil dripping on it further towards the engine, but you might not be able to see it due to a heatshield or something.

I checked along the exhaust pipe and there was nothing. It seems to be getting better though. Could it just be burning excess oil for an oil change?

Yes, it can. It happened to me and my car smell bad for a whole week or more. Brought the car back to the auto place that did the oil and did not find nothing wrong, so it has to be burning excess oil.
