4th Generation tail light replacement

Hi,
I have a 1999 Camry. Both my taillights (904) are not working. The brake lights 3157 are working fine. I checked the bulbs. they are fine. What else should i check. The indicator on my dash has started.
Thanks

Did you try the relays? In the engine bay next to the battery. Oh and the fuses.

Worst could be a bad switch.

Try the fuse, then relay then switch. Just use a test light.

^ What BamZipPow said. Open up the loom of wires near the driver's side trunk hinge and check for frayed or broken wires in there. Note the color of the wires leading to the tails lights and pay particular attention to them. The wires in that loom have a tendancy to fray and break, due to all the flexing they are exposed to as the trunk is constantly opened and closed over the years.

Thanks guys! the problem was exactly what Mike said. The wires were broken onside the trunks ducting on the driver's side further down from the hinge. Too bad I read the post after I got it fixed from the mechanic.
