3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Just like I promised, I finished my g/f's 97 camry retrofit, here is what I did.
Gen 4 to Gen4.5 conversion with crystal clear ebay headlights
S2K AP1 projectors with clear lense
E46 Xenon Shrouds
I could have used a modded shield and got a perfect S2K cutoff. As you'll see in the pics, the cutoff is slightly bowed. I didnt have patience to fix that and wanted to get them done. Also, all chrome, wanted that oem look.
I didnt connect the halo ring (personally think it is tacky, no offense to anyone who has it). I just got done about 3 hrs ago. I will take some day time pics tomorrow. Tell me what you think.
The Camry is a car that I can rip out someone's pride, stab it, beat it, and completely bash their egos, and it's so ridiculous that the person comes back with a hysterical laugh... ROFL They got trainlengthed by a Camry that in their mind, was a 18 sec car.
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I still have to do some minor leveling and clean up the wires. I just woke up and my legs, back, and fingers are sore from all the work. I'll get daytime pics posted.
damn dude, beat me to the punch
doing the gfs right now lol
she got the same headlights, TSX projectors (looking for clear lenses) and e46 replica shrouds... guess im gonna have to outdo you and get the valeo high beam projectors ;-)
im just debating whether the extra 70 bux for clear lenses is worth it, cutoff and color on such and old car wont be as important lol
sexy tho man
and im connecting the halos, despite beign tachyy, which they are, but good for show for some people
im just gonna put them on a standard switch under the dash :-P
also if your looking for another project
you can help me design foglights for the bumper
im gonna take projectors and a clear lens and create my own housing
found some nice p6s for about 80 bux
a clear lens im not sure where to get yet lol

Yeah, its a lot of work but it will pay off. I have enough projects, I have to do my Dads Denali and my g/f left passenger headlight is too high (you'll see in pics), need to fix that. Good luck with the retro and the fogs you can pm or ask any questions you have along the way.
Alright, I took some day time pics. You can clearly see that the passenger headlight needs some work, its too high. Anyhow, I am posting so you can see them in broad daylight. It was raining outside so the pics are not too good. Let me know what you guys think. Oh yeah, excuse the bumper color, its off, stupid ebay.
I need to lower the headlight here, looks like a dead eye
i can see u upgraded to the gen 4.5 bumper, not sure if were gonna do that yet
its cause the hole u cut man
its not just up high, its crooked too
ur gonna have to cut that bumper a bit more
u shoulda put some leds in that e46 shroud ;-)
how much did u pick up the projectors for too? ive been looking and they are MAD expensive!
but i want them for my civic :-P
if not when i do the civic retro ill be doing TSX there too lol
I never cut the bumper only the cars frame where the headlights went in order to fit the headlights. It was a lot work. I didnt think the bumper needed cutting but now that you mention it, I am going to have to check it out.
I got the S2000 projectors from a seller in HIDplanet. I did pay a pretty penny but I think they are one of the better single xenon projectors. I am not sure how much because it was almost a year and half ago. I think it was like $300 bucks. I think they are selling right now for about $340-$350 maybe someone can chime in and verify.
I hope your right about cutting the bumper because that will be really easy.
