93 camry too high rpm

I have a 93 camry 2.2l, Car runs great, but after getting off of the highway the other day, it idles at around 2500 rpm and won't drop. Pulled throttle body off and cleaned it. Did not help. Next, pulled off the IAC. It was gummed up. In trying to free it up, I broke the magnet on the end and had to buy a new one. Still will not lower the idle.

Where should I go from here?

thanks

f the car has cruise control the gas pedal cable runs to the cruise box first then another cable goes to the throttle pulley. Make sure the cables are not stuck.

There is a dash pot on the throttle body the keeps the throttle plate open when the engine is off. Make sure the plunger in the dash pot is retracting when the engine is running. When the engine is running the throttle plate should be closed.

There is no idle adjustment, the IAC valve does this.

There is a idle up circuit for the AC, warm up, shifting into gear but this has a trouble code 51. IS the check engine light on. Check the Park/Neutral switch.

Also check for vacuum leaks.

Thanks for the help. Ends up, I had adjusted a set screw on the side of the throttle body, before I knew the Iac was bad. Put the Iac on and it would not lower. I backed off the screw and now it runs like new. Thanks for the help though. I am sure that I will be back over time.

Thanks
