New Leak, new sound new problems and questions

1. Pulley on the alternator makes high pitch noise almost like bearings need to be replaced. Can I change whole pulley for new one? Do I get those from Toyota dealer or I can get third party one? When I take the belt off of it do I just snap it on and tighten the alternator??

2.I see there are minor leaks on valve gasket, I'm ok with opening the front valve but how much more do I need to do to open the back valve up??

3. There is one of the leaks that just started happening itt is above second valve on the back. here is a photo. Is that oil leaking?? Where is that pipe going. Leak happens on marked little lines. It is a seal leaking but what do I need to do to change it?

How many miles on your car? If it is high mileage, might just replace the complete alternator.

You will need to remove the intake plenum to replace the rear valve cover gaskets; it is not difficult but it does take some work. Might think about replacing the spark plugs too if you haven't had that done recently.

The picture shows the PVC valve and hose, you can probably replace the valve and the grommet when you are resealing the rear valve cover.

How bad are you leaks?

Those leaks are not that bad very minimal. The one on the picture got worse I think not much but it did. I would like to fix this leak before taking valve covers off. Is it possible??

It is just a matter of pulling the hose off and pulling the valve out. Depending on the mileage of the vehicle, the grommet may be hardened and would be a little difficult to come out. Might as well replace the hose too.

So that little thing that is attached with the seal to the valve is called grommet ?? What goes through that little pipe. I want to replace that seal with out of taking whole valve off but I guess it has to be replaced from inside the valve??

Crankcase fumes! The PCV system circulates the blow-by, oil fume from inside the engine back into the combustion chamber through the intake.

You have to take the valve off to replace the grommet in the valve cover; the cost would probably be around $30 for all three parts from a dealer.

Thanks for your help. One last thing I wanted to ask, inside of intake plenum there r also gases running? Haynes manual says to drain coolant from the engine before taking intake plenum and valves off. I think what mostly terrifies me is taking stuff apart and finding out there was some kind of liquid and spilling all over the place. Anyway thank you. I have much better idea what I need to take apart to fix that.

The coolant is basically circulates in the Idle Air Control part of the throttle body, which you can unbolt from the intake and put aside without draining the coolant. Except for the cold start injector, which you can unbolt from the plenum, there isn't anything else in the intake plenum; it is, in a sense, an air duct used to distribute the air to all cylinders evenly.

If you are resealing the rear valve cover, the part that will actually give you some trouble is the wiring harness sitting right on top of it. This link will give you some information as to the parts that is involved: http://www.camrystuff.com/manuals/Ge...hanical_V6.pdf. Not all items needs to be removed to reseal the valve cover though. When you are ready to do it, post your questions.
