European Union Camry 2.2 manual wagon shakes at idle rpm!??

Hi there and greetings from finland!

I have similar kind of problem like some of you Camry owners had with your camry that the engine vibrated at idle speed..

I have replaced the engine mounts (2 peaces) with new oem ones but I can still feel some strange vibration at idle!? The vibration can be felt most when the engine temp needle is on middle position... (in other words when the engine is normal warm)...

Do you people think I might get the vibration fixed by checking out the transmission mounts? Or is it an solution only for automatic types?

My car is from -96 the very latest model and it΄s driver 150.000 km aprox. 90miles?

Greetings and thanks in forehand!

Check ALL mounts and look out for any that have excess 'shake' when the engine is idling. That would be the first thing i'd do.

To check for any excessive engine/transmission movement - put your hood up, turn the engine on, pull up the emergency brake, put your foot firmly on the gas pedal, put the car in drive, and while holding the brake down hard, push on the gas. Watch for excessive engine hopping, movement, or what have you.

Some movement is normal, but if it's bouncing around all over the place, you'll probably need new lower engine mounts, transmission mount, and a dogbone mount.
