Canada LEDs for DRL ?

If LED working voltage is 9-14V, can I use it as my DRL?

I guess canadian DRL is 6v for 9005, right?

Thank you and happy new year

I don't know about 9005, but on my Corolla DRL runs my H4 low filament and feeds 9V. But with LEDs not nearly as bright as any filament headlight bulb, I would separate the DRL circuit from the headlight bulb and wire it so that it runs LED at full voltage. 9V ought to be enough to energize a relay or a TIP12x transistor circuit. This is better done with a separate LED unit than dropping in a 9005 LED bulb. Some times you do want your high beam.

The DRL circuit can be taken off the DRL resistor which will isolate the DRL to switch the relay you add in. Any 30A relay (Bosch, hella, omron, etc.) I have used 7.2V dc to switch the relay without problems in small projects.

When you disconnect the DRL resistor, the high beam still works when you switch them on at the control stalk.
