a/c problem in wet weather

My 01 Camry 4 cyl. air conditioner green light in the switch will blink and go out if I run through standing water during a heavy rain. The compressor actually quits working. Something is getting wet that shouldn't. Any suggestions on stopping this?

Pressure switch mounted on receiver/dryer just behind grille, compressor belt slipping causing compressor rpm sensor to show problem, compressor clutch slipping when wet (adjustment). Just some possibles.

It could very well be the press switch. I think I'll put some kind of protective cover around it and wait for the next big rain to come. Thanks! Guess I should also tighten the a/c belt a little also.

I used to have this exact problem with an 86 Camry. I always assumed it was just the belt slipping when it got excesively wet. When it happened I would just pull over when it was safe and simply shut off and restart the car. The A/C then worked fine. I never bothered to fix it since this seemed like an easy work-around.
