4th Generation $600 bux in parking tickets. Owww!

Ouch! I've just paid all my parking tickets.
(contemplating 1. suicide 2. not driving for a yr 3. selling my car. )

Sorry to post my rant. But had to get it out to somewhere. I only have you guys.

- California laws sucks! This state make more revenue than Great Britan and Saudi Arabia. Combined! Its the 7th richest state in the world. And yet, they they milk the people here. High taxes, gas prices, housing, fines,.... I'm moving.

That is ridiculous.

Do you live in the actual city? Cause if you do, then it is expected. It seems that all cities are complete a-holes when it comes to parking. I've learned never park on the street in a city, they will find a way to fine you.

Don't take it personally, but yeah, California sucks. Too many laws, too strict laws, too many fines, and too many hippies.

And more taxes to come with the states huge debt next year. At least the governor is semi-sane, not like many in the past.

Don't move here, even though the governor swears no tax increases they are coming.

3rd Generation

We might get a triple of our registration fee next year too, thanks to Ahnald.

Cali is a tough place to be for anything innexpensive, but I don't think I could ever tolerate the weather anywhere else...

@ the OP, don't worry about it man, I had a sleu of tickets in 08' and it costed me a bundle.

Just budget everything right, go to school, get a job, better job, whatever, then you can have some extra security in the bank.

Also, times are tough, so you're not the only one out there hurtin'. I've been trying for the last month or so feverishly looking for a better paying job that I'm at, but no ones hiring, and I NEED the extra cash lately...

Keep on truckin man, you'll be alright

I grew up and is born and raised here in San diego. All 27yrs of it. This is just plain stupid. They over charge and give you a ticket even for wearing the wrong size condom here.
7yrs of college and grad school in physics later one might think there is some hope for future in this city. Boy, was I wrong. ( Got laid off. Oh! its not about you, but economy hurts and we've got to let somebody go. Like FU.) I spent more than I make every year.
yeah, I heard about the new increase in tax too.
(can't beat the weather and beaches here anywhere else though. its just plain simply the best.)

Judging by the grammar, financial decisions, and refusal to take responsibility for your own parking problems, I think you should have spent a couple more years in school.

Tax the rich, why that's communism. Bailing out the rich, now that's the American way.

What's the breakdown of the $600 in fees?

And out of curiosity, how much does it cost to own, say, a third generation Camry in California? Cost for registration / insurance.

Where I am (Illinois), it's $78 for registration and I pay a little under $100 for insurance every six months.

On that insurance rate, that's 100/300/50 liability only (no comprehensive or collision). Emergency road service is also included, as well as uninsured / underinsured driver (protects me if somebody who isn't insured hits me, this is required in Illinois).

JESUS you're insurance is cheap! I only have liability and I am paying $900 every 6 months. And that is after a year. I started out paying $1300 every six months.

Maybe it's because I'm 18. Ha.
