Hello, I have a 93 camry wagon and I am having some issues with the check engine ligth and ABS ligth coming on. I want to buy a code reader to find out what is the problem source. I found he equus import code reader which is very economical but wanted to ask if any of you have any feedback about this code reader. Thanks

From the description this tool does what you can already do yourself. It appears to be a electrical jumper to connect two terminals in the ECU output plug. This allows the ECU to output the codes via the CEL, ABS or OD light.

You can do this yourself with a section of electrical wire.

It appears not to be reader that actually outputs the codes on a screen but a connector.

Your car does not require a reader to output codes.

Try the AutoZone website at www.autozone.com. They have vehicle repair guide that can help output the codes.

"You can do this yourself with a section of electrical wire."

Or simply a paperclip.

You can download a complete generation 3 Toyota factory service manual for free at the top of the Toyota Camry forum over at AutomotiveForums.com. It will have the procedure along with the codes and lots of other information. Ignore what it says about an SST (special service tool) for reading the codes. That's a fancy name for a piece of wire or a paper clip.
