3rd Generation Car shaking side to side.

Well, I used the search utility to see if I could find anything close to my issue, but I couldn't really find much help from it.
Alright, to the point, my car shimmies from side to side, shaking, at times violently- coming from the front. At about 5-10 MPH, and continues all the way up to at least 60 (didn't go faster than that). If you are looking at the hood from inside the car and watch the road at the same time, you can see it shimmy.
Me and my dad don't know what it is- we thought it was the CV's at first, but then looked at the warning signs of the bad CV and didn't match all of the symptoms to my car.
I do need tires real soon, any ideas?

hey guy, im no expert like many people on here but I do remember that I had a problem with the steering wheel shaking like crazy. Come to find out I needed my tires balanced. Did you get any new tires lately?

Hope it helped.

Will do, we plan on getting the tires and allignment checked tomorrow. Funny thing is, i've been telling my father that it needs work done for months, and it took a ride to Best Buy to get him to see things my way. XD
Finally have an appointment set with my mechanic for next friday too. Hopefully we can knock out that oil leak too.

Sounds like tire problem, maybe a broken cord in one of the front tires, unless you have a wheel that is bent.

As NEO noted, most likely a damaged tire. Jack up each wheel and feel around the sidewall on both sides. I bet you find a bulge on one tire. BTDT.

Yeah, I noticed bulges on pretty much all of my tires. But It didn't start acting up until a few days ago.
