Stalling right after start

Twice in the last month, I've driven my 94 LE (5SFE) enough to warm up and then stopped somewhere for about 20-30 minutes only to have the car on restart sputter and stall.

Both times I had to quickly give it gas and keep the RPM's at around 1000 for about 30 seconds before I could shift and drive normally.

Both days it was around 32 degrees outside (if that matters). It hasn't given this trouble starting completely cold, and no other short trips (say another 1-2 similar drive to fully warmed, sitting ~30 minutes or so before continuing each weekend) have done the same thing.

I haven't gotten off my bucket and fixed the crack on my intake (it's over the throttle body plenum/collar, so minimal air leakage) so I could Deep Creep. Would that fix it, or could it be my belt? I've had a little bit of squeal for awhile, and a couple recent cold mornings, it seems like the power steering is a little tight until I get rolling.

Could it be an alternator? I replaced the battery last summer.

I'd suggest cleaning your iac first, as that is usually the culprit when it comes to stalling and low rpms

When cleaning out the throttle body on these engines, using throttle cleaner, carb cleaner, whatever, make sure you do NOT use the plastic straw that comes with the can. I was cleaning my throttle body out last month with the straw, and it shot off and went down my intake. Haven't seen it since, so it seems like it either got stuck in the intake and is just sitting there or burned off in the engine.

Either way, be careful.
