What method were you using to bleed? Gravity? Vacuum? 2 person? Bleeder jar?

Are you sure yer master is still good?

You need to reduce the travel of the shoes by adjusting them closer to the drum. Do that first then see how the brakes are.

You can get the adj sprocket from the large hole in the drum with wheel off.

The rear drum brakes are self adjusting. The adjustment happens when the parking brake lever is pulled -- the adjuster ratchets as the shoes are spread from the bottom. Sometimes it helps to set the parking brake while slowly moving backwards.

The rear disk brakes operate a little differently. They have small drum brakes only for the parking brake. Since wear isn't expected, these are manually adjusted at installation. The adjuster is turned so that the brakes bind up, and then loosened 4-8 clicks -- enough to let the wheel turn freely, with a little slack to handle thermal contraction. After both wheels are adjusted, the final adjustment is done at the operating lever so that handle engages 5-8 clicks with a 40 pound pull.

Sounds just like my car a few days ago, I had to replace the master cylinder, the seal on the piston in the master cylinder had a small hole in it, just enough to allow the seal to fail, the brake pedal would travel to the floor before any braking force

thats freaking scary..

these camrys have crappy braking. even w/ new pads/rotors. i didn't see too much of a difference, granted they threw in some dumb drums on the rear. but even so. it sucks !
