Almost dead camry
My gen 3 5sfe has been acting up in the recent pass, but it was still running, until now.
This morning I tried to crank up the car, it went on and the rpm shot up to 2k along with the abusively jerking through out the whole car. RPM then dropped down to 200, barely enough to keep the engine idle. I tried to raise up the RPM by turning on the AC, but I didn't see the green dash light that should be there, RPM didn;t change aswell. Then I pushed the gas pedal all the way and ... nothing happens, RPM stayed dead end there, the whole car kept shaking, and the sound from the engine is definitely not pleasant at all, sound like a german tank, not a camry no more...
Am I looking at a total engine failure ? BTW the engine has 220k miles on it, roughly 300k kms. The sound from the engine is similar to the sound of water pump failure, except for the fact that I know its not. I changed the water pump, timing belt, crank seal ... just 2 weeks ago.
I havn't check the engine bay yet, which that I will do tomorrow. Any input is appreciated.
