3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
My headlights practically emit no light. I mean they are bright enough to see but not bright enough for me as the highways are very dark sometimes and some streets hardly have any light. Im looking for a HID kit that would fit my 98 camry. I was searching on the forums and i couldnt find a thread that would answer my question. Does the 98 have a cutoff and wouldnt melt when i convert to a 4300k hid kit? I'm really not a fan of converting to projectors or getting silverstars. My friend had it on his 3rd gen and it practically did nothing. I notice a cutoff with my stock headlights but I'm not sure how it would be if i had HIDs with the stock housing.
Sorry if this has been asked many times. If you could, copy and paste a thread

you dont need projectors on the gen4(97-99) headlights, at least i think you dont. i had a kit on my old gen4 with out them and the lights had a near stock cutoff and very little glare. they were brighter of course but i never had anyone show any complaints about blinding or excecive glare. most aftermarket H4 kits include a bulb shroud. the ones i had were from modexpress, one of the vendors we get a discount through.
same i have a 6000k kit from mod-express and there great
but make sure you have good headlights that arent all clouded up or you wont get much more light than before they will only work good if your headlights are very clear

Do you have a picture of your lights during the night and day? Also, which bulb did you choose when buying your kit from mod express?

I guess i can aim them slghtly lower if they do produce glare. If i cant get off the cloudyness on my stock housings, OEM ones would be just fine i assume? Pictures of the 6000k at day and night!
As long as there isnt any melting housings I will be seeing an HID kit in the near future . Where do i get the discount on mod express? Its a bit pricy, I seen the same kits go for 100-150.

Go to For Sale section and you will find MODEXPRESS HID.
