The dealer confirmed that it had keyless entry in it, or it could be installed as an option?
I bought my car new, and the keyless entry was listed only on the sticker that was on the window.
I lost one of my remotes a few years ago, and then asked the dealer when I went in for an oil change how much a new remote was, and I was told $80.
I was like, uh, no thanks and used my other remote since. Then I found one on ebay. Only difference was that this one has the trunk release. My car only beeps when I hold that button, so I wonder if I could actually add that to my car, but enough of that.
I looked up on
www.programyourremote.com and that is the exact same procedure that I used for my 2000 camry.
What helped me was to press the lock and unlock a total of 10 times. It says 5 times of lock and unlock, but it is 10 button presses.
I did start with all the rest of the doors locked, the drivers side door open and unlocked and it worked right away.
I was afraid that the instructions were simply to make you look like a fool for doing that.
My guess is either you are missing something, you don't have keyless entry, or you have a different security system that uses a different programming sequence.
