Need Help Please

two days ago i forgot to turn off the fog lights on my 95 camry. somebody gave me a jump and it worked good. when i parked i thought the battery would be charged since the travel was one hour or so. When i woke up the car didn't have battery again so i replaced it thinking that it was the problem. The car turned on good i drove to the market and i came back. I tried to use it later on but it was dead again but the battery seems to be charged. I thought it was the alternator but am not that sure since not even the headlights turn on or the blink of the open door sound. What do you guys think it is?

I'VE TRIED THAT but it seems that they are ok. when i took off the power terminals amd set them back again into the battery i've notice that the door light came on, i've set the key and turn the ignition and the light turned off. i had this happen a year ago and i had the same problem when there was a short cut and one fuse went off...somebody here helped me and told me about it, i bought it in the toyota dealership but i forgot the name of it. there is no power whatsoever in the car and the battery is charged, i believe is this fuse.

This reads like a battery cable issue. Corroded or loose terminals, bad ground.

Do the headlights turn on?

Right now i changed the A100 fuse of the alternator replaced some fuses even though they were ok. i've notice that the open door light was on so i saw that there was power, i got frustrated and i moved the shifter that locked on me. i press the brake and moved it and somehow the automatic shifter release without me pushing the release lock and the dash lights were on.
I turned the ignition and my car turned on perfectly all lights and radio, windows and all. I let it stay for a few minutes and the engine remained idle but the shifter locked again and my interior dash lights, back lights and side and directional markers turned off. I drove the car by releasing the shifter lock and put it my garage, i've tried to turn it on but no luck....the open door dash indicator, dome light, hazard and headlights seem to work.....but the shifter is locked and when i turned the ignition it doesn't release only when pushin the release button. Please i need of help....i was thinking it might be a short circuit? or a security thing for this car. can anybody help me???

Shift lock receives power from the Cig/Radio, ECU-IG and Stop fuses.

As you know you need to step on the brake to be able to move the shifter out of Park with Ign key on. The shift lock uses the same switch as the brake lights. Do the brake lights wor? If not there could be a problem with the brake light switch.

Another thread that ends in mystery with no posted solution. This forum seems to have a lot of this.

Sigh....You try diagnosing a potentially complex electrical failure without the car in front of you. I get calls all the time from people that want to know why their trunk pops when they hit the brake. (Ok so that might be an exaggeration.) Still, you get my meaning. Believe me, most people are here to help but there is only so much a person can do without the car in front of you.

I posted that comment out of frustration. I was using the search function to find a solution to a problem I was having similar to this one. This was probqably the thenth one I had found with a similar problm to mine but with out the solution or fianl resolution posted.

It's been over a month since this person had the problem. I'm sure that they resolved it some how by now. As a courtesy to the others on the forum, it would have been nice to know what the problem turned out to be and how it ws fixed. That way, when someone comes along later with the same problem and they find this thread, they will also find the solution to their problem. Kinda how these forums are supposed to work. You take a little, you give a little back. It's damn likely that if you are having a problem, somebody else has already had it and someone else will have it again down the road,. Point being, these threads are useless if the end result isn't posted.

Anyway, I am getting some help from the folks on here and I really do appreciate it. I don't mean to be a complaining Newby. Just a bit frustrted.
