Tranny fluid Type??

I have a 97 camry. Is it ok to use dexron 4 transmission fluid to replace the dexron 2 or 3? someone told me that I should not do it. I want to be sure.

There is only Dexron-2, 3 and 6. Right now only Dexron-VI (6) is available. There was no Dexron-4. Maybe your friend said not to use Toyota Type-IV. (T-IV)

Yes you should use a Dexron type ATF in your 97 camry. Check your ATF dipstick. there will be a label with the type of ATF you must use.
