dead tachometer

92 camry v6

tachometer is dead. can anyone show me direction to fix this? could it be like a fuse..or a loose wire or something? it just decided to not work anymore -___- but all the other gauges are working. does this mean i have to replace my whole cluster!!!?!?!

4th Generation

I have this question too, except I have a 98 Camry with the 5sfe. My tachometer is dead, pegged at 0. All my other gauges work, and I've already replaced the tach so I don't think that's the problem. Any ideas?

ok, check your fuse box, both inside car and under the hood... look for anything that isn't obvious.
found out my gause fuse box was labeled "fog" when i don't have fog lights lol...
might as well check everything else since you're there...

if not a blown fuse
it may b the wiring...
i'm not sure exactly how the gen 3 is wired,
but if you look up this link
http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t59805.html
it show's you how to take out the cluster gauge, which should be really close
to the gen 3...
in the back are connectors... there you can do a visual inspection
and hopefully that helps...
