i just wanted to install a new muffler because i bought a new one (is it a muffler or exhaust???) im not sure which it is....
one shop gave me a grand total of 265 for whole installation....piping, catback, exhaust, muffler....
and i didnt know what to ask....lol....so all i said was can i get a quote for an installation of 93 camry for an exhaust....(might be muffler i dont know ......plz help........)...thanks
...I'm not really certain what you're trying to accomplish. Are you trying to have a cat-back installed?
This is when they'll use new tubing from the catalyctic converter back to the tail-pipe and utilize your muffler. They'll also likely need to weld flanges as well as hangers.
Are you trying to have just the muffler installed? ie: they'll cut your exhaust tubing off, weld it to your muffler and weld a hanger to the muffler.
also depends on if the muffler is a direct bolt-on with proper hangers, or if it needs to be welded on to your piping and a new hanger has to be installed as well

93XLEcamry, in addition to American Muffler you can check out Ed Hansen in Spring Valley. His shop is a bit pricey but is very well known for their work on hot rods, muscle cars and other high performance cars. If you are looking for custom piping, Ed Hansen's is the only muffler shop in the area that does mandrel bending.

I had my magnaflow muffler installed for $80 from a local shop. It was 2.5" inlet on the muffler and my pipe was only 2". Couple of days later I asked them to remove the resonator and put in a 2.5" pipe from the cat for another $80. Meineke was asking $210 for just the muffler....
Between $60-$80 is a good price. The lowest I ever heared of was $30.
thekevin....do you know by any chance how much it would cost to install just the muffler at american muffler??
i dont need any custom of any sort...lol...no money....but thanks
not sure but it shouldn't be much. i bought a universal magnaflow from them and they installed it for $160 or something like that. that's also including the tip.
