Hey, thanks but does the V6 have two Camshaft Position Sensors or one? I found the front one, is there a rear one?

Thanks

I'm having a similar problem. My girlfriend's sister's 1999 Camry's camshaft position senor. I've replaced her sensor and we're still getting the sensor error. I hooked up an Ohm meter to the old and new sensors which resulted in 1107 Ohms for the old and 1137 for the new. When I hooked it up to the connector their are 0 ohms being returned. I checked the Crankshaft sensor at the wiring harness near the alternator and received 0 phms at the sensor and the connector. Could this be an indication that the computer is bad? The car tries to turn over and it has fire but it won't start.

Could be a break in the harness wire or an ECU issue, but I'm leaning toward a wire break. You also can't check resistance with voltage. Check for voltage at the connector terminals.

Thanks Jason,

I've checked the wiring harnesses and wires for the camshaft sensor back to the firewall but did not see a break, frayed insulation, stripped wire or anything like that. Is there anyway to test the ECU for voltage leading to the cam or crankshaft sensors? Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the ECU?
