Just try to pull the code on my 97 camry I4. The DLC1 located at engine bay close to the passenger side if I am not doing wrong. I open the cover and use copper wire to connect E1 and Te1 (Te2 is empty). Go back into the car and turn the key to on. The engine light just solid turn on without any flash. I try to put the gear to P or N. Still the same. Does Gen4 support paper clip read code?

it's obdII, so you need a code reader

OBDII came in 1994 Toyota's and newer, you can only retreive trouble codes on 1993 or older Toyota's with OBDI.....But hey, if you had an OBDI system, you were doing it right!

No idea. But when I connect E1 and TC. The ABS was flash all the time.

You can jump those to pull codes for the ABS, SRS, and other systems still. Just not CEL's.

No, 96 and newer. With very few exceptions (like the 94/95 V6 Camry)
