I have a '96 4 cyl. with 95K miles. I plan to replace the front axles (boots are torn and - plenty of grinding/clunking when turning sharp). Any suggestions on axles source / brand? I've seen new (not reman.) Cardones for around $65 each - but spoke with a guy at Raxles and he certainly didn't recomend the Cardones. His are around $120 each. Thanks for any ideas.

Try your local Toyota Dealership. I replaced the inner and outer boots on both my axles about 6 months ago with OEM boot kits and they were just as cheap as the local parts store. I was thinking that I ask about axles and they were very competitive on those as well.
