4th Generation Asking price?

What is a fair ballpark asking price if I decide to sell my 1999 Camry CE, 2.2L 4-cyl, 184K miles, automatic, beige, interior in good shape, small crack in windshield, 14-in wheels w/hubcaps, new Michelin Symmetry tires, new alternator and ps belts, has crease in rear driver's quarter behind wheel, front edge of hood bent but no alignment issues and hood shuts good. Car runs, shifts, drives great, although I think that it needs struts. Gas mileage is 26-34 mpg. I paid $4000 for it last year, had 178K miles on it. I put the new tires and belts on it. Bought it as a commuter when gas was around $4/gallon, and it has been great, but this is our fifth vehicle, and maintaining five is too much. As mentioned, it needs struts, and if I do that, I will want springs, plates, and Tokicos, and I can't make that happen for less than $800. One of our other cars that needs attention is my wife's high school car, a '65 Mustang coupe, and the money from the Camry would help on the Mustang.

Go to a website like Kelly Blue Book (KBB.com) and price of the car. You will have to deduct for the obvious needed repairs and body work.

4th Generation

List the car for the same price and that way you have bargaining room. let them know if they ask that the car needs the struts and springs. as long as there are no mechanical issues and everything is in working order i could see you getting about 3k or a little more for it due to the year and millage. dont expect to get what you paid for it especially when you know what it needs and our economy is so tight right now. if you do then thats great, but people are looking for honest good deals now. good luck with the sale.
