98 Camry 90k Oil Loss

Ive had the car for 9,000 miles now and each time ive changed my oil at 3k there was a loss of about a quart each time. Is it normal for these cars to burn some oil or do i have a leak i cant see? I havent had the timing belt done yet and i dont believe it has ever been done. Could it leak from one of the seals into the belt and me not be able to see it becuase of that? or am i just worring too much, just wanna take good care of my baby . thanks for the help =P

Depending on how the vehicle was maintained, some engine don't use any oil even with that amount of mileage, some do. It is possible that you have internal oil consumption, namely valve seals or rings. Check for tell tale signs of Blue smoke from the tailpipe during cold start, which would indicate valve seal problem.

Having said that, Toyota consider a little less than one quart of oil usage per 1000 miles normal oil usage.

I would pull the plugs and check there for oil burning. I'd also re-check the area under the timing belt cover for oil leak; that would show leaking seals that would be replaced anyway at TB change. Have you checked for leak at oil pan drain plug? I find your leakage excessive. After I did initial post purchase service work (TB, seals, etc.) my car does not loose/burn any oil between oil changes. I purchased my Camry with 138k on odometer.
