Air intake questions, and uneven idling question

Hello all,

I've had a short ram intake on my 4cyl camry now for about a year, and when I checked my spark plugs the other day, I discovered that I have been running a bit lean (spark plugs had a white color). Could this be a result from having a more free flowing intake?

Also, after I checked the compression (180-190 psi on all cylinders) and replaced the spark plugs, I got a lot of engine miss fire and a CEL light.

CEL was due to the misfiring, and I replaced the spark plugs since I needed new ones anyway.

Now, after my car warms up and is idling, I have been getting an uneven idle that I can even feel in the car. When I start accelerating, it is uneven (not smooth acceleration) until about 2k-2.5k RPM's. Once I am driving, I can mash the gas pedal all I want and it runs fine.

I dealer had check the spark plug wires and they claimed that only one might be a bit bad, but I'm not sure how thoroughly he checked. I know how to check the wires, and I'm actually going to do that right now.

So could the idling problem be the result of bad spark plug wires? Any other ideas or experiences with this?

Sorry for the long post, but I appreciate any help/ideas!

Here are some pics of what I found:

However, the connections on both both ends of all the spark plug wires showed no corrosion. Could that crack rubber perhaps cause problems? Or the poopy colored one?

If they are original to the car, I'd say there is a very good chance they are bad.

Well looking by at the pictures, I would invest in some oem replacement wires because they look so bad. It might be the intake because when I have the stock box I did not noticing any vibrations either.

Yea I think I am definitely going to get some new wires.

However, I have never had any problems with the short ram intake. Judging by the number of people that put a sri on stock cars, you wouldn't think that simply a sri would cause any problems.
