Question on Pulling Cylinder Head

Hi, I have a 94 Camry with a 2.2 L 4 cyl. (5 sfe). I am pulling the cylinder head to replace a blown head gasket and/or see if there is other damage. I'm following the toyota manual and am getting close but have a couple of questions:

When pulling the camshafts the manual states that they should be in a certain position: exhaust camshaft with knock pin at 10-45 deg BTDC, intake with knock pin at 80-115 deg BTDC.. So question 1 the knock pin is the pin the camshaft pulley slides over? I know where TDC is, my second question is the 10-45 deg or 80-115 are those a range--i.e. between 10 and 45 degrees counter clockwise of TDC or is there a specific mark the manual is referring to?

The manual references a Special service tool to unscrew the head bolts--does anyone know if a normal socket works here or if I really need something special here?

Thanks for your help!
