Cable going into throttlebody area from black box on left side of battery?

There's a small black cylinder piece that is broken off of a black box which is next to my battery (left side) which connects the start of a throttle cable contained in a thin black tube and goes all the way up to the area of the throttlebody. could anyone tell me what this is?

its your cruise control. or are you wanting to know what the broken black thing is? cuz I wont know without pictures.

thats what i figured as my cruise control hasnt worked since i bought the car. the piece was glued on to the black box as well, so whenever it broke off it stopped working.
