3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Does anyone know of a place where I can get power to a switch? On my other car, I just hooked it up to a switched 12+ on my aftermarket head unit but my dad's Camry is stock. Is a piggyback preferred? I know some cars have an extra accessory fuse...
Many people just use the Cig lighter +12 (I did) for the switch. That way when you turn your car off, the fogs go off, so you don't have to worry about leaving them on.

nuron, I got an OEM foglight switch from the dealer for $10 I think it was. It was surprisingly cheap. Not sure what year your camry is, but on the Gen 3 you can pop the OEM switch next to the e-brake handle (on the I4's), and on the Gen 4's, you can pop it in the OEM location to the left of the steering wheel.

On the Gen 4 kit, the instructions have you tap the wire under the steering wheel that controls your headlights, or it has you tap the wire for the daytime running lights.
The OEM switch for that wasn't too expensive.
$8.53 + shipping.
You could actually just tap into the corner light's positive lead, and use it as the switched power source. However, with a fuse tap there would be no need to cut and splice wires together, which would make for a cleaner, and more reliable install.

Granted it;s expensive, it;s the best you can buy, and I used it on my car and Eyeball96's I think. Currently BigBird's car. I wired mine in so that it looks factory and you can;t find the wires......freakin took a full day though. I'd just say buy and OEM switch from the dealer for a cleaner look in the interior.
