3rd Generation 2 questions. has to do with steering and windows

Specs: 1996 Camry I4 A/T

First off, when I start my car in the morning after it's been sitting all night (bare in mind, it's winter here), when I just turn the wheel the slightest bit, it makes a very high pitched squeal. However, when it warms up, it's quiet and doesn't squeal. Could this high pitched squeal be considered normal due to the fact that the car had been sitting in the cold overnight?

Second, when I press the button to make my window come up, it makes this weird high pitched leather on leather sound like it's struggling to go up. And mind you the sound is not very pleasant. It goes down like a champ however. It's especially slower in the cold. At one point this winter, it got so bad to the point where the window wouldn't go up at all from its position of being down unless i pushed the button once every minute or two, where it would go up a quarter inch each time. Is there anything I can do to fix and or replace the problem?

Window motor brushes worn, replace motor, it is not strong enough at these temps as the entire mechanism is stiff.

squeal in steering, check belt tension. Use synthetic Dex3 or equivalent ATF in power steering system.

thank you for the help... i wonder how much a motor would cost brand new or from a junk yard.

as for the squealing, you mean i should put dexron3 tranny fluid in my power steering system? and im assuming ATF is the acronym for Automatic Transmission Fluid...

For your window motor, your best bet would be just to buy it new. Not really a purpose to going to a junk yard for one. They most likely want to give you the whole window regulator. This is one of the few instances ebay sells decent stuff, go on ebay, and replace your whole regulator. They work well, although not OEM. Many on this forum agree. It should cost you a little less than $50 including shipping.
