i have new OE Toyota SE rear struts on my 93 SE. (They were FUN to find...). Now my front shocks are going and I'd like to replace them with the Tokico HPs. But I'm kinda concerned: will this miss-match make the car a squirrely beast or a better handlin' screamer? Opinions? knowledge? regrets? Joys?

I've been told it's fine to do pairs at a time (both fronts or both rears), so i dare say it should be okay.

^ Not in this case, I would not recommend it.

It;s fine to Mix Front or Rears with the same TYPE of strut, but it would not be good for handeling to replace the rears with OEM and the fronts with much stiffer performance ones. Just replace the fronts with KYB-GR2's. Pretty much the same as the ones on the rear for you.

agreed, i wouldn't mix and match different brands. i'd just save up and replace all 4 with tokicos since you're planning to go that route later anyways.
