Are these normal?

Hi, m8s,

I have some questions about my car, thank you for answering.

1. If I turn the steering wheel to left end or right end, there comes a sound like friction.

2. When I start the car from cold, the engine room makes a louder sound than normal driving after a moment.

3. I start the car and put the transmission at P position, if I turn the steering wheel, the revolution meter will change within the value of 800 to 1500.

Are these normal? Do I need any check?

Thanks!

Thanks. So the first one is abnormal?

btw, why steering the wheel affect the engine rotating speed? I didn't step on the gas.

1 could be normal, depending on the sound ... its probably the tires rubbing on the ground since youre stationary

and as far as the steering wheel turning cause the revs to raise, the power steering is belt-driven which means to use the power steering the engine has to give power to the pump ... just like how the revs go up when the a/c turns on because the a/c compressor is belt-driven
