Probably need a wiper motor, there is a set of contact inside the motor that shuts off the wipers when it parks.

I had the same problem and I opened up the wiper motor plastic cover to find that the arm for the contacts was missing. I made one out of a heavy staple to see if this would correct the problem and it did. I have a post for the intermittent delay not working but at least now they park.

Thanks Albetime. I had the same problem with the wipers not parking and no intermittent wiping on my 2000 Camry LE. I took that black plastic cover off and found the contact arm sitting right there on the white gear. I was able to solder that arm back in place and everything works great. Maybe your wire you placed in there is being missed by the little post on the white gear as it comes around and is never being pushed over to the other contact. I really don't know how the circuit works with that relay contact but it's just a thought. But I searched for a year and a half and almost replace the motor before I saw your post. Thank you.

Having the same wiper problems after an all day rain here. Where exactly is the white gear and this contact arm -- and how do you get at it?
