93 camry no power to fuel pump

I have a 93 camry 2.2 5 speed that was running fine. Parked one night when it went down to Zero degrees. Would not start next morning. Still would not start when it warmed up.

Could not hear the fuel pump, so checked there first. Determined there was no power to the fuel pump, at the fuel pump connector. Removed and checked the EFI relay and the "circuit opening" relay. Both seem fine.

Determined there was power going out of the EFI relay, at the connector block, but does not seem to get to the "circuit opening" relay (behind glove box). I used a mechanics stethescope on the relay and cannot hear it click when turning on the ignition. Also used a meter at the connector to see if 12 volts was getting there. None gets there.

Where should I look next? All fuses look good, but cannot find any fusible links, that I understand are there somewhere.

In the engine compartment bolted to a shock tower should be a small plastic box. Inside the box are electrical terminals. Use a section of wire to connect the B+ and FP terminals. When the ign switch is turned on the fuel pump should now work.

OK, but I won't be able to drive the car forever with that wire in there, will I?

How can I fix the problem permanently?

It's been raining all afternoon. It is still raining and it is dark now. As you can guess, I work out doors.

No, I have not tried it. But even if it does work, I will need some idea what to fix. I cannot drive the car with a wire jammed in there.

First you need to determine if the fuel pump works. By bypassing the fuel relay/safety system you will apply power direclty to the fuel pump.

If the pump works the issue could be the fuel pump relay, EFI relay, MAF sensor.

If the pump does not work you can look at the pump.

Otherwise you are just guessing at the problem.

I am not guessing.

I know there is no power at the fuel pump connector. When I applied 12 v directly to the fuel pump, it ran. At least it hummed. It does not hum when connected up and the ignition is turned on.

I know the relay behind the glove box is not picking up when the ignition is turned on, as there is no power to it when the ignition is turned on.
