HELP - 1999 toyota camry brakes

i was driving the car today and i heard a noise when i applied pressure to the brake pedal. the noise seems to be coming from the passenger side wheel. the more pressure i put on the pedal the louder the noise becomes until i come to a complete stop. i thought it was probably debris rubbing up against the brake pad and rotor. so when i got home i hosed off the wheel and pad and it started to steam. this never happened before the sound only started today. what could be the problem?

p.s. the noise isn't a screeching sound. but you can tell that something is rubbing against something.

first the steam is normal, brakes just get real hot.

Also, you can take of your wheel and look at how much of your pads are left. You may be getting down to the metal!

That much heat you may have a caliper holding pressure. Also the slide pins in those calipers like to get rusty and stick.

I had something similar happen to me about 2 years ago. It turned out to be a combo of a worn out inner pad and warped rotor... fun stuff... But i'm not sure that answers your question... Do you feel the brakes vibrate on the passenger side, as if there is ABS on that wheel alone? Could you be a bit more desciptive? Thanks!!
