Thumbs down gripes and question on nys inspection of 94 camry

hey.
im a college student and i really don't have a lot of cash to burn on repairs.
last year, my 94 camry had a fuel leak- the gas line (the one i see looking under the car) was nearly rotted. the dude at the goodyear shop told me about it and said next year, they would'nt pass my car due to the leak. is that true?

plus, i went to have the car repaired ( radiator was leaking fluid big time) and they said that there was 2 fuel lines running from my tank to the tube that goes to the gas cap (something like that at least, i could be wrong). anyway they said they fixed the one that could be run by installing it without dropping the gas tank and stuff.
went to he gas station and lone behold, it was still leaking. really gay... well, im pissed. did this shop give me b.s. on the whole thing and take the cash or did they just fix the wrong line hoping to fix both?

thanks for the honest replies.

technically (speaking as a certified NYS inspector), they can fail you for ANY fluid leak, especially fuel.

as to your other repair problem, i have no idea what the fuck you just said.

just 1 repair problem- not two. he noticed the fuel line leak during repair of ANOTHER problem.

guess i'll make my question more clear: are there two fuel lines running from the fuel tank to the gas cap (and the tube attached to the cap)?

Yes, it;s a $140 or so part, REPLACE IT ASAP! My dad's gave no warning and just strated to dump fuel on the driveway. Had to take 1/2 the gas out of the tank to replace the filler neck. and it is common on our cars. Enjoy the possible fire of your car if you keep driving it like that.
