Camry Question

Hey guys, I just got a 92' camry for free, and it's been sitting for a good 9+ months. What kind of thing's should I do to it to get it going really well? so far I've gotten the oil done, that's about it. Should I seafoam it? clean the engine? what do you guys got?

Any idea when anything has been done last? Plugs, wires?

I'd say flush the cooling system and put in frssh coolant with distilled water (If the coolant is not a 50/50 mix already).

Also, is it a V6 or I4?

Because it has been stitting, rubber tends to dryrot, so check over ALL the hoses for cracks.

Change the plugs (Denso or NGK ONLY), wires, cap, and rotor. That way you'll have fresh items sicne you have no idea how old they are. Check the tranny fluid to make sure it's good. Check all wires to make sure no animals got to them and ate through them.

How old is the gas in it?

Throw in a bottle of SeaFoam Engine Treatment into the gas tank then.

As for musty, maybe the car wasn't even opened for 6 months, lol. 2 things you can do. 1st, for the interior, you can (best bet) steam clean it all. You can rent a steam cleaner pretty cheap. Or (And) spray everything with Fabreeze. If the smell is from the AC/Heating vents, there are chemicles (In know BG makes one) that you somehow put in the vents, and it kills the mold.

If you want to be really sure...

Change:
1) Oil
2) Oil Fliter
3) Transmission/Differential Fluid (both use ATF)
4) Spark Plugs & Plug Wires
5) Distributor Cap & Rotor
6) PCV Valve
7) Coolant
8) Thermostat
9) Brake Fluid
10) Fuel Filter

Check(replace if needed):
1) Belts (should not be shiny or cracked)
2) Upper/Lower Radiator Hoses
3) Brake Pads/Shoes
4) Tires
