Well, earlier today I literally thought my car was going to explode.
Here's the story. For the past few months, the car started having troubles starting. It just went click click click. I talked to a mechanic and he said the gas was pumping, the starter was clicking, so it has to be my battery. I went to Walmart to have it checked and they said it was fine (after giving it a complete charge). I reconnected it and the car turned on and worked for a while. Well, today the car wouldn't start when I came out from the store. I turned it and it clicked but it didn't start. I turned it a few more times but to no avail. Pissed, I went to take the key out and as I was pulling it out, the car ignition sorta started/failed. I put the key back in and it turned on but it ran weak. I decided to get home as quick as possible. During this time the brake light came on, the car ran really weak, and it's like I had to put more gas to get it to run.
After I parked the car, I turned it off and took the key out and the car wouldn't stop. It just kept trying to run. I popped the hood to see a smoking area to the left of my battery area (starter stuck?). I disconnected the battery and the car stopped. I put it back on and the car was fine, but it was too weak to start and hold.
Can somebody please give me some insight on this. I really don't know what's going on. Do I need a new starter? I'm guessing the smoke is because the master cylinder is low on fluid.
