3rd Generation So what would cause this?

I have a quick technical question for y'all....
I was riding down the road today, and as I neared the crest of a hill, my car cuts off, with all of the lights on the gauges on, I pull over and proceed to try and figure out what happened. And then once I gave it a once over to make sure that no belts were broken, I checked all of the fluids under the hood..... don't know why exactly, not like that could affect the running capability... anyways, so I tried to start my car once again, and nothing.... not nothing like a dead battery, I still had full power to roll the windows up/down, but it wouldnt start at all.... I was wondering if anyone knows what might have caused this, and how to fix it.....
Thanks!

My bet would be the timing belt but that's just a guess without being there.

3rd Generation

228.000 miles on the car, no idea on the last timing belt change, and no the car will not start.
It was as I feared, looks like everyone is thinking the same thing.

If it's cranking, but not starting, it's most likely the TB... If you try to start the car, but NO other pulleys are turning, it IS the TB...
