long story short....my hg is messed up so.....i need TNs opinions...
what should i do?.....
pay 1500 to remanuf. my current engine with 180k......
pay 2500 to install another remanuf. engine..........
pay 3500 for a new remanuf. engine.....i dont know how something can be new and remanuf..lol..but yeah
or
order a engine and have them install for about 600ish..????
the engine i was going to order is from this company called tiger engine....they are selling the engine with apporx. 20-35k mile for 650 plus 200 for shipping..
have anyone heard of this company or know anything about them???
or any have a site where i can find other used engine???
didnt you just pick up an ES?? just scrap the camry and drive that other car. get as much as you can for the camry and put the money into the ES...or sell the ES and put that money toward the camry.
figured i might. if you have any good salvage yards they id try to get one from there. it may need a little work but it will be MUCH cheaper then gettin one from a rebuild company.
i agree about the junkyard thing....i dont want something unreliable.....
i found this company that offers unlimited mileage warranty...but still need to call in.....
i'm all for buying used engine but the site that i went to had very little warranty on their engines...
so imma just call and see whats up....any ways thanks guys...hopefully i'll be driving my camry soon...
as i said before, baring any catostrophic failures, junkyard motor is the same things as a reman motor just not rebuilt yet. you save that money by doin it yourself or having a shop rebuild. your gonna pay the cost of your car in a new motor if you buy a whole new reman one. if you insist on that rout...id strongly advise rebuilding the one ya got, its in the car and JUST as good as any rebuilt one after you rebuild it.
thanks bigbird......but i've heard stories about engine rebuild going bad after a year or so, so im kind of doubting that route...
if there was a good reliable shop that does engine rebuild i'd surely do it, but so far, all i've heard are negatives about rebuilding engine, saying they half ass some things, ect....
and the kevin i think you got me mistaken for someone else...lol...like bigbird as he did in the earlier post..lol...but give me the # anyways and i'll call him...

this is true. i too have herd horror stories in the past. its somthing youd want to do yourself to really save alot of money. if ya dont have the tools or time then your gonna pay ot the ass one way or another. but if ya do find a shop that has a good record(check BBB) then that would be the best option possible.
good luck with it man, hope it dont cost ya too much.
