Pop means your screwed?
Alright, so, I've had this problem since I got my car. When I bought it, the AC controls weren't working, and we figured it was just the motor under the dash.
First time around, we replace the motor. The controls still don't work for all of the positions. Then we take it back to the mechanic, and he fixes it, said there was a linkage or somesuch, and it was working when I was testing it at the shop. This morning, I heard a loud POP from under the dash after I put it on defrost, and the road I was on was bumpy so I heard a metallic rattle under the dash. I tried swiching the setting off of defrost, but no luck- It's stuck blowing air out of the defrost and drivers-side vents. We'll be taking it back to my mechanic, but I want to know just what is going on, and If there is anything, for someone with no mechanical skills at all, to do without having to take it back to my mechanic. (I know he HAS to be tired of seeing my car.)
I know it dosen't involve removing the whole dash, but only the bottom part on the drivers side. That's the extent of my knowlege. <_<
What was the popping noise anyways?
