Canada Erratic Idle

I cleaned the Throttle Body, and this did not solve the erratic idle.
I just inspected the Ignition Wires today. All is good, minus a crack in the rubber on the portion of the stick that goes over the spark plug (in the 1st cyliner). It still fits on nicely, but of course the rubber is cracked on about the bottem 2/3 of that rubber piece. I feel like the connection is still good. Of course I am no expert mechanic. Any ideas if this crack is causing the erratic idle?

i have changed nothing.
the ignition coal was changed at a reputable garage about 6 months ago. the timing adjusted. they replaced the dist cap and seal. i pulled the plugs out, they look as if they have been buring hot - due to slight white look to them, but all in all, still look good. i have bee using these plugs for about 50,000 km , maybe less.

The erratic idle may be just a sticky IAC valve. BTDT. Lots of posts about how to clean.
You can check out that suspect plug wire by lightly misting it from a spray bottle in the dark. Look for arcing.

Does your idle go up, down, or both?
