Wife's car puking grease out of the axles.Bought new ones today. Currently working on the drivers side. I can not get it out of the transmission. It will not budge. Is there a clip or something I'm forgetting ?? Is it just rusted in there ? What's the best way to get it out ? I tried my pry bar and it still won't budge . 2000 Camry Le 4 cyl Drivers side

you try rotating the axle to different positions and then prying on the inner cv joint with two large prybars?

OK I was wondering if there was or not, don't want to keep prying and getting mad if it's a clip holding it.

There's a snap ring on the end of the axle stub that goes into the transaxle to lock it in place. A brass bar and hammer (or you can try a pry bar and hammer) should help you get the axle out. They're known to be a little difficult to remove.

I test fitted my MR2 axles to my rebuilt Solara S51 manual while the transaxle was out of the car, and one locked into place. Man it was difficult to remove again. I was pounding away for 15-30 minutes. No joke. Then on my last hit, it just popped out like nothing.

Try a bigger pry bar. If you're doing this crawling under the car then you will not get much leverage. I ended up using a 3' pry bar from above and a block of wood against the engine as a fulcrum, snapped right out.
