CD player says Err1, ejects

I have a 01 Toyota Solara with JBL 6 disc cd changer. The cd changer worked fine when I bought the car 1.5 years ago, but recently it started acting up. It would play the cd for a while and then skip/freeze up, then eject. An now it is refusing to play discs at all: spinning for about ten seconds and then ejecting with Err1 message.

I've tried many discs, one of which was brand new, and none of them work.

[edit] OH, also, I have a Cd lens cleaner disc. Funny, the deck can play that cd fine. But any other cd wont work.

Any ideas? Thanks.
