97Camry 4cyl surging?

Hey guys,

my new to me camry has developed a fairly random surging issue.

When I am driving on the interstate @ 65-70mph not all the time but sometimes I can feel a very slight surging like I am moving the gas pedal up and down a fraction.

Any ideas? Other than that the car is a joy to drive its perfect for running back and forth to work.

What type fuel mileage do these typically get? My commute is 80/20 hwy/city with very little traffic (I work nights). I filled it up and calculated exactly 30mpg. I like the large fuel tank also looks like I can commute for 2 weeks on a tank!

Well I can answer my own question,

spark plugs! I pulled the plugs last weekend and its highly possible they are the original dual tip plugs from 1997. The plugs looked good and clean but the electrodes are gone.

A new set of ngk dual tip plugs and its running like a dream, no surging and cranks right up. Feels like it pulls stronger also.

I read on here that the plugs are a 100,000 mile plug I believe these may have lasted 156,000 miles.
